WorldMate’s promo video points out the crap problem on the iTunes store
Macenstein —
WorldMate’s promo video points out the crap problem on the iTunes store WorldMate , a new application for managing air travel designed for busy, globe-trotting professionals, takes a couple well deserved pop-shots at the “crap” apps flooding the iTunes store in this very well-made promo piece. As someone who has run into far too many of these “crap app-loving” guys, I feel these apps both cheapen us iPhone users as a whole, and help keep some people from taking the iPhone seriously. (That being said, I am working on my own crap app… ) I’d actually love to see more advertising of this quality for specific apps. Given how flooded the store is with things like virtual ...
WorldMate, the mobile travel service, comes to the iPhone
The Next Web —
WorldMate is huge in the mobile world -it first started as a Palm OS app back in 2000. Then, as today, they realized that “travel = mobile” and so it made sense to build a mobile application for travelers. WorldMate had an innovative approach and built what was the industry’s first on-device portal with a myriad of travel content for online/offline use. WorldMate was so successful that many PDA/Smartphone makers including Nokia, Palm, HP, and Sony Ericsson pre-installed it on their devices. More than 3 million people use WorldMate across the Symbian, BlackBerry, Palm OS and Windows Mobile platforms.

Worldmate – the do-it-all app for business (or just frequent) travelers – has a pretty good promo video out on YouTube. The video pokes fun at some of the iPhone’s slightly less than essential novelty apps and contrasts them nicely with the usefulness of the Worldmate app itself.

You can find the Worldmate app in the App Store, and there are free and ...
WorldMate Live Announced for iPhone
IntoMobile - Cell Phone News, Information, and Analysis —
WorldMate Live, one of my favourite travel applications for BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM), has made the jump to iPhone just in time for WWDC. WorldMate Live lets you check flight statuses, manage iteneraries, search for new flights, convert currency, and plenty of more handy utilities. Their promo video takes a great jab at the masses of useless applications out there for iPhone, and how WorldMate sticks out from the rest. A version for Symbian just came out of testing earlier this year, and their Windows Mobile app has been available for long before that. Free and premium version are available, ...

WorldMate + Push = Must Have iPhone App for Road Warriors (Free Copies)
TechCrunch —
When it comes to flight information, or to be more accurate, flight statuses, push notification can be a godsend. Case-in-point, Worldmate Gold (iTunes link), one of the first iPhone travel apps to utilize the new OS 3.0’s push notification capabilities. The downside? It’s $20 (well, $19.99).
If you do much traveling this is one iPhone app you may actually be delighted to pay that $20. Also, there’s also a free version (iTunes link), although that version does not have push, the compelling feature of the app. If you’re quick though, you can grab one of the 40 free copies of the Gold version WorldMate is giving ...
