Some time ago Google introduced voice search for the iPhone; now, Vlingo ups the ante with an application that allows you to search the web, use Google Maps, dial phone numbers as well as update your Twitter and Facebook account, all by speaking into the phone.
Once again, I’m not bullish on voice controls as far as computers go - be it desktop, portable or handheld computers. Vlingo has finally launched an iPhone version of its powerful voice control application.
Previously catered to BlackBerry, Vlingo lets you speak out everything from text messages to e-mails and Web navigation commands — then it translates that into typed out action on your phone. Its latest version added support for spoken Twitter and Facebook updates and even the ability to have a message you speak read back to you aloud.
