The bid on the two phones is currently $735, though it remains to be seen whether the auction will close on March 11 as scheduled. The Apple iPhone prototype serial number is YM649xxxxxx which according to the seller corresponds with a factory in China with a manufacture week of 49 in 2006 and runs on iPhone OS 03.03.03_G. Apparently there is also a second non-functioning unit as well with a glass display and higher serial number.

... they were the mobile versions, not the regular versions. I can't figure out how to set a ringtone, it is just silent right now. I can receive SMS but not compose my own, other than 5 included test messages. It doesn't sync to itunes. Camera seems to work. It has tons of testing options.
Such relics normally get me excited, but these don't carry much energy. To me, they just look like broken iPhones running broken software.
