Boy Genius Report —
Sure you’ve got Pandora, Last.fm and a whole slew of internet radio apps sitting pretty in the App Store but it’s hard to complain about another custom internet radio option for the iPhone and iPod Touch. At this point, Slacker doesn’t quite have the subscriber count of more popular options such as the aforementioned Pandora and Last.fm, but the company definitely has a viable service and the introduction of an iPhone app will no doubt give the Slacker team a nice little boost. Known for its hardware efforts, solid custom stations and website design that must have been done by the Harley Davidson people, Slacker is basically a ...

... however: as of yet, there's no buffer for saving streams for when you're away from a signal. No internet? No music. It's possible they could apportion a few hundred megabytes of the iPhone's storage as an offline buffer, but I sort of doubt we'll see that feature any time soon. They do still sell G2 players, after all.
Over my 3G connection it took about 10 seconds to buffer the first song, although skipping to the next song only took about 4 seconds.

Slacker Radio Takes on Pandora and Last.fm
ReadWriteWeb —
For us, the iPhone has already replaced our radio while driving. Thanks to a steady stream of podcasts and the Last.fm and Pandora applications, annoying DJs and endless commercials have become a thing of the past. Now, another streaming music app, Slacker Radio, which was already available for the Blackberry, has arrived in the App Store (iTunes link), and we think it is a worthy competitor to the popular Last.fm and Pandora apps.
